A mi manera / My way

(Variaciones y fugas en torno a My Way)

AHORA que cae el tiempo,
Otoño al que miro en los espejos
del recuerdo
te narraré sin titubeos mi vivencia
que conozco bastante bien.
He vivido una vida completa
he andado cada uno de los caminos
y más, mucho más que eso
y lo hice siempre a mi manera.

Fracasos y tristezas, he tenido muchas

no sonrías,
(lembranças permacem jovens
no poema)
porque a pesar de todo,
no me tragué las palabras,

.............................dije lo que debía, sin miedo,
me mantuve en pie
y siempre lo hice a mi manera.

Ya ves, he amado, he reído, he llorado
tan joven, tan reciente,

My Way

Now that time is running out,
I look at Autumn in the mirrors of memory
I'll tell you my life without hesitation
that I know quite well.
I've lived a complete life
I've walked every path and more,
much more than that
and I did it my way.
Let down and sadness, I've had a lot
but, weighing them up, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
without exceptions!
Now I doubt if I planned each path
each step throughout my life,
but I did it,
and it was always my way.

Yes, there were times surely you know,
that I wanted to take on,
more than I could fit,
they were called Isabel, María José, Carmen o Irina
don't smile,

because in spite of everything,
I didn't swallow the words,
I said what I should have, without fear,
I kept standing,
And I always did it may way.

Now you see, I've loved, laughed and cried
it was my turn to win, and also lose,
and now, when I don't know how to stop the tears,
I find it so fulfilling,
so young, so recent,
that I know for sure
I did it thoroughly!
and I always did it may way.

What is a man but the time he has lived?
What does he have if he isn't himself?
and he is not like that,
he is nothing.
Always saying the things you feel
your knees never trembling, never surrendering.

I assure you that I took some hits
But I did it my way.

I know that nothings ever over, until it's over.
Yes, but my way
